A Fresh Eye on Beijing-Beihai Park

For centuries, only emperors and khans could enjoy the lavish landscapes of the lake known as Beihai and its surrounding garden. The lakeshore is ringed with palaces, hidden rockeries, quiet pavilions, and exquisite studios where emperors composed poetry and sampled the finest tea.
