A Fresh Eye on Beijing — Shichahai Rink

The weather may be brisk in Beijing, but that just means the skating season has arrived. Houhai and Qianhai Lakes in Beijing’s historic Xicheng District have outdoor rinks where residents and visitors can rent skates (or an ice bicycle!) and take to the frozen surfaces. Houhai’s rink is open during the day, and at Qianhai, skaters inspired by next month’s Olympics can also show off their own axels and lutzes under the lights every evening until 9:00 pm.
