" Meet me at the Hyphen" - Waldorf Astoria Ball
Harking back to the Golden era of New York’s high society, anyone who was anyone knew what the Hyphen was, named for the shape created by the two exquisite buildings located side by side on fifth avenue, The Waldorf Hotel and The Astor Hotel of the famed Astor family. From titans of industry to bankers and politicians, this is where both royalty and the elite met to socialize and celebrate in grand style and opulence. Rockefellers and Carnegies would gather to show off their jewels, dine on decadent delights and dance the night away in the most lavish of settings at the turn of the century.
With this in mind, The Waldorf Astoria Beijing will be holding the “Meet me at the Hyphen” guest appreciation Waldorf Astoria Ball on Friday, December 9, 2016. Limited to only 96 guests, this lavish affair will be remembered as the event of the year. Timeless and elegant, the esthetic will be warm light, golden hues and ornate design with a vision reminiscent of the golden age. Clock and time motifs abound to remind guests of the passage of time and of the steeped and rich history of the Waldorf Astoria.
